Curvy Kate is by far one of my favorite brands in the full bust market. The designs are cheery and colorful and the company boasts a mantra of body positivity - something sorely missing in today's world. Best of all, the models are all regular women found through Curvy Kate's Star in a Bra competition, so it's wonderful to see what lingerie looks like on a more attainable body than what is presented in most lingerie catalogs.
I thought the new collection for the upcoming season was fun and colorful, as per usual. Although there weren't many risks taken in terms of new cuts and styles, almost all of the color choices for the staple pieces looked great. I love the Pixie colorway that shows up in several different places in the collection - it's such a gorgeous jewel tone that works both on pale and dark skin. The geometric diamond print on the Cascade looks especially good in this colorway. The metallic embroidery on the Dita is quite nice as well.
As far as styles go, I'm pretty excited about the Daily Dream, which is an updated version of the Daily Boost. The Daily Boost hasn't agreed with my shape in the past so I'm looking forward to trying this new version. Also, the Brazilian panties are a super flattering alternative to the briefs and thongs typically offered.
While I only got to see one set from the swimwear collection, I was absolutely in love with this Plain Sailing bikini! The ruffled skirt is totally adorable and I am a big fan of the navy & orange combination. The padded bikini also creates lovely cleavage without being too overt like bathing suits sometimes can be on a full bust.
I was SO HAPPY to see the new Scantilly collection in person. I wasn't able to snag a catalog, so I apologize for the lack of specific sizes and cuts. However, I know that the line will offer bras in sizes 30DD to 38 HH. This is smaller than Curvy Kate's typical sizing and I'm a little disappointed with the lack of 28 bands, but I'm hoping the size range will expand as the line gains popularity.
The open back brief in the Peek-a-boo style is extremely sexy and probably one of my favorite boudoir panty designs of all time. It's kind of the opposite of the recent cage panty trend. Although I'm not usually a huge fan of animal prints, the delicate mesh ruffles and dark blush background of the Pounce create a luxurious feel. And of course I lovvveee the multi-way detachable strap on the All Wrapped Up bra, which can be attached to the gore of the bra, the back of the panties, or around the waist.
What are your thoughts on the new Curvy Kate line? Are you interested in trying something naught from Scantilly?
